Heather Heins

At ISPCAN, Heather is responsible for developing and managing relationships with new and existing members, improving member engagement, and managing the development and promotion of educational materials and content. She brings to ISPCAN a wealth of experience in communications and education, a strong work ethic, passion for children, and a meticulous eye for detail. Heather has always had a curiosity about and interest in other cultures and perspectives and is dedicated to the mission of improving lives and outcomes around the world. Heather is the primary support for the Membership and Marketing and Training and Education committees.

She began her career in magazine journalism and then taught English as a second language to adults for 10 years, both abroad and in the Denver area. More recently, she worked for nearly 12 years as a communications consultant for an education research and development organization, where she was managing editor of a nationally distributed magazine for education leaders and wrote and edited a variety of articles, reports, and papers. Heather has a B.S. in journalism and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction, both from the University of Colorado.
