11th Nordic Association Conference
May 24 - May 27
On the behalf of NFBO (Nordic Association for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect) we invite you to the 11th Nordic conference that will be held in Helsinki, Finland, for the first time. The theme of the conference is Hearing the Voice of Children and Young People.
We have a number of significant key-speakers that will speak during the conference linked to the theme. Howard Dubowitz, professor of pediatrics and a world leader on neglect will give a pre-conference presentation and also a plenary session. The other invited speakers Linnea Karlsson (Finland), Laura Lundy (Northern Ireland), Jukka Mäkelä, Pipsa Vario, Jonna Turunen (Finland) and Carolina Överlien, Norway/Sweden represents a broad knowledge and expertise in the fields of brain development, psychology, social work and law relevant to professionals working in the child abuse and neglect area. All will focus on helping us understand the voice of children and young people in a deeper way. In addition to invited speakers we expect to receive large numbers of abstracts from Nordic countries, reporting on clinical experiences as well as research, that will be presented during the conference. There will also be plenty of time for the important informal exchange among colleagues across the Nordic countries.
We are convinced that this conference, the eleventh in the history of NFBO will follow the same trend as previous conferences delivering significant value and quality. We hope you will join us for the conference in the beautiful and inspiring city of Helsinki May 24–27 2020.
