Bio:   Franziska is a Lecturer in Social Work at the University of Edinburgh and an Extraordinary Professor at North-West University, South Africa. Her work focuses on prevalence, risk factors and outcomes of violence exposure and the development and validation of child abuse measures across multiple cultural contexts. Her newest study funded by the European Research Council examines the mechanisms of intergenerational violence transmission and scope for prevention in South Africa. She works closely with the World Health Organization and is a member of the Parenting for Lifelong Health consortium aiming to develop non-proprietary, evidence-based, parenting programs for low-income settings. Franziska holds a BA in Social Work, an MSc in Evidence-Based Social Interventions and a DPhil in Social Interventions from the University of Oxford
