|Visa & Passport Info for Romania|
American and Canadian citizens as well as citizens of Australia, New Zealand and most European countries do not need an entry visa to visit Romania, for stays up to 90 (ninety) days. However, a valid passport is required for all overseas/ non-EU visitors. Citizens of the countries of the European Union can enter Romania with a valid passport or with their National Identity Card. Your passport has to be valid for the entire duration of your visit (it will not expire sooner than your intended date of departure).
A list of countries whose citizens are required to obtain a visa can be found here>>>
If you need a visa to enter Romania, send your request for a letter of invitation along with a copy of your passport to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that you MUST have paid for your registration and accommodation before you can receive your letter of invitation. This a requirement by the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If a visa is not issued, you will receive a full refund with no cancellation penalty. No invitation letters will be issued after 25 August.
Once the letter of invitation has been prepared, it will be registered with the National Visa Center and an electronic copy, along with the registration number from the National Visa Center, will be emailed to you. You will then print out the letter and attach it to the visa application that you submit at your local Romanian embassy or consulate. This process does take some time so we will not be able to process letters of invitation for requests received after August 1.
