Victoria Lidchi is a chartered clinical psychologist and systemic family therapist. She has received additional training in conflict resolution and mediation in the USA. Victoria Lidchi is a member of a number of professional societies, including the British Psychological Society, the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health, the British Association for the Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and its French equivalent (the French Society for Research and Prevention of Child Maltreatment).
Since 2004, she has been on the Executive Council of the International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN) and in September 2011, she assumed the role of Chair of ISPCAN's Education, Training and Resources Committee. Victoria Lidchi is book review editor of ISPCAN's Child Abuse and Neglect: the International Journal and contributed to a recent study on violence by led by the United Nations.
Victoria Lidchi has been working in the field of child protection since qualifying as a clinical psychologist in the UK in 1993. Over the past few years, she has been working in Latin America in Bolivia and Brazil and, in 2004, Victoria Lidchi received an award from the city of Rio de Janeiro for her contributions to the field. Prior to moving to Latin America, her last post was as clinical psychologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital where she was a member of the medico-legal assessment team as well as teams working therapeutically with children who had suffered emotional and sexual abuse. In addition to working at Tavistock, where she is a consultant clinical psychologist on their medico-legal team responsible for conducting assessments of highly complex child protection cases and Deputy Head of Child and Family Psychology. Victoria Lidchi is Consultant Clinical Psychologist for the Cheshire House residential assessment centre in Manchester (Sale). Victoria Lidchi is fluent in four languages and has published in national and international journals in English, Spanish and Portuguese. She is a consultant for the Instituto Noos in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil where she still conducts regular training.
