Member Achievements

 

Dr. Jon Conte, Professor of Social Work at the University of Washington and ISPCAN Councilor, was awarded the Ronald C. Laney Lifetime Service Award on 25 June 2010 by the American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (APSAC) at their 18th Annual Colloquium in New Orleans.
This prestigious award is granted on a periodic and exceptional basis by the Board of Directors of APSAC to an individual who has exhibited a lifetime of service to others.


 

Dr. Irene Intebi, Director of Familias del Nuevo Siglo and President of ISPCAN, presented a workshop at the APSAC 18th Annual Colloquium on 23 June 2010 titled "Challenges in Addressing the Issues of Corporal Punishment Across Different Cultures: a Comparison of Cultural and Religious Beliefs on the Acceptability of Corporal Punishment in Developing Countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America". The workshop was attended by more than 120 participants.
