We celebrate another victory in the collective enhancement of the rights of children and adolescents in our country!

Law No. 13,010 of 2014 which amends the Child and Adolescent Act from July 13,  1990 to establish the right of children and adolescents to be educated and cared for without the use of corporal punishment or cruel or degrading treatment has been approved.

Juliana Petroceli (Cabinet Advisor - National Secretariat for the Promotion of the Rights of the Child and Adolescent / Secretariat for Human Rights of the Presidency of the Republic)

Both Evelyn Eisenstein and Lucia Williams worked hard to have this law approved. They both went to their House of Representatives in Brazil to provide arguments and research showing the resulting problems for children associated with corporal punishment.
