Abstract Submission Instructions
The person submitting the abstract will serve as the main author (the main point of contact for correspondence). It will be assumed that this person will also be a primary speaker delivering a paper or an interactive presentation at the Conference.
- Abstract Submission Deadline is 1 May 2007. Abstracts submitted after this date will not be considered.
- Authors are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts online by following the link at the bottom of this page. Please do not submit an abstract more than once.
In exceptional cases, authors may write to euroconf2007@ispcan.org to request that an abstract form be sent to them by email. However, applicants are advised to make all efforts to submit online.
- If you have already submitted an abstract for the Xth ISPCAN European Regional Conference ( Berlin, September 2005), or the XVIth International Congress (York, September 2006) you do not need to submit your personal information once again (by completing the ‘Add a speaker’ part). Instead, you should log in with the email and password you created for the Berlin or York conference and simply add an abstract which will automatically be considered for the XIth European Conference.
- Correspondence will be sent to the main author only, at the email address provided by the author
- All authors of accepted abstracts are required to register for the Congress by 31 August 2007. Failure to do this will result in the abstract being excluded from the program. Registration by 31 August 2007 will allow you to take advantage of Early Bird registration discounts.
- All abstracts will be considered on the basis of individual merit by the Scientific Committee, and will be ranked according to the following criteria:
- Relevance to the conference title , “Supporting Prevention and Recovery from Child Abuse and Neglect: Role of Professionals, Communities and Families”
- Relevance to the selected main theme
- Importance and relevance of the content to the European audience
- The Scientific Committee will select submissions for papers, interactive presentations and workshops and will inform all applicants of the results of the selection process by e-mail by 15 July 2007. The selected abstracts will be finally accepted only after the presenter’s completed registration is received. Presenters are required to pay the conference registration fee.
- Abstracts may be submitted in Portuguese or English. Please note authors will have the opportunity to indicate which language(s) they are willing and able to present in.
- Abstracts should not exceed 300 words. All abstracts should be single spaced; the 12-point Times New Roman font is preferred.
As you submit an abstract please select one of the following which best describes the nature of your proposed presentation:
- Report on research study. This should include objectives/purpose, method, results and conclusions
- Program, technique, policy description (including theoretical basis) with evaluation data
- Skills development (list what specific skills are covered in the presentation)
