The person submitting the abstract will serve as the main
author (the main point of contact for correspondence.) It
will be assumed that this person will also deliver the paper
or poster at the Conference.
- Abstract Submission Deadline: 21 February 2005.
Abstracts submitted after this date will not be considered.
- Authors are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts
online.
* Please do not submit an abstract more than once.
A confirmation email acknowledging the receipt of an
abstract will be sent to the main author at the email
address provided upon successful submission. Presenters
will be notified of abstract acceptance/rejection and
form of presentation by email no later than 18
May 2005.
- Correspondence will be sent to the presenting author only,
at the email address provided.
- All main authors of accepted abstracts are required to
register for the Conference by 29 July 2005.
Failure to do this will result in the abstract being excluded
from the programme. We encourage authors to register by
10 June 2005, in order to take advantage of the Early Bird
registration rate.
- All abstracts will be considered on the basis of individual
merit by the Scientific Committee, and will be ranked according
to the following criteria:
- Relevance to the conference theme, “New Developments
in Science and Practice: Influences on Child Protection”
- Relevance to the selected stream
- Importance and relevance of the content to the European
audience.
- Abstracts may be submitted in English or German. The official
conference language is English with two streams to be delivered
in German. Abstracts submitted in German will be considered
for the German Stream or the Open Stream. Authors willing
to present in both languages should indicate this option
on the abstract submission form.
- Abstracts should not exceed 300 words and should include
objectives/purpose, method, results and conclusions (please
click here to see a sample abstract). All abstracts
should be single spaced. 12-point Times New Roman font is
preferred.

A display area will be provided. It is expected that the
author will be present at the poster location during the
specified presentation time to discuss the contents with
the Conference participants. Further instructions will be
provided in the abstract acceptance letter.

The time allocated for oral presentations is 20 minutes
(15 minutes for the presentation and 5 minutes for discussion
