Abstracts
The Online Abstract Submission System is now Closed.. |
|
Authors are invited to submit proposals for papers, workshops, and interactive presentations. Authors are strongly encouraged to submit abstracts online at www.ispcan.org/Congress2010.
The abstract submission deadline is 28 February, 2010. Abstracts submitted after this date will not be considered. The Scientific Committee will select submissions for papers, workshops, and interactive presentations and will inform all applicants of the selection process by e-mail by 1 May, 2010. The selected abstracts will be finally accepted only after the presenter’s completed registration is received. Presenters are required to pay the Congress registration fee. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to make the final determination regarding the presentation format of accepted abstracts.
Presentation Formats:
Papers
The time allocated for oral presentations is approximately 15-20 minutes. Please note that the duration of different paper presentations in the Final Program may vary slightly depending on the number of papers.
Workshops
Workshops will be interactive sessions with a focus on skills development or on discussions among participants. The presentation length is approximately 90 minutes depending on the level of interaction. Workshops are not didactic presentations and must involve audience participation. Workshops must be skill-based. A very limited number of workshop submissions will be accepted by the Scientific Committee. Workshop abstract authors are encouraged to consider whether the abstract really focuses on skill development or shares experiences and ideas. The few workshops that will be accepted will focus on skill development.
Interactive presentations
Interactive presentations are brief reports, followed by a small group discussion with the author.
Symposia
Each symposium will be composed of three to five related papers. Authors interested in presenting a symposium are requested to submit all related papers as a single abstract, with clear designations of the individuals' papers and titles (limit 1,500 words). The abstract submission should include all three to five presenters as co-speakers. Symposia should provide as broad a picture of a topic as possible. Space seriously limits the number of symposia which can be accepted.
Abstract Submission Instructions:
The person submitting the abstract will serve as the main author (the main point of contact for correspondence). It will be assumed that the main author will also deliver a presentation at the Congress.
