Youth Participation

Children and young people both locally and around the world are most welcome to participate and join other delegates at the XVIIth ISPCAN International Congress to discuss their ideas for preventing child abuse and neglect and building stronger, more resilient communities.

The XVIIth ISPCAN International Congress will heard the views of children and young people about what encourages them to take part in decisions which affect them. The young participants also discussed their ideas for preventing child abuse and neglect and building stronger, more resilient communities and help raise awareness of the kinds of choices young people must make in today's world.

A pre-congress Youth Participation workshop for Hong Kong children and youths was held this summer in Hong Kong. This workshop was sponsored by World Vision. The theme was: Our Vision of a Non-violent Community: We Care . We Love. There were three sub-themes- Family, School and Society. Views from the children and youths brought forward in the Youth Plenary of the main congress on 8th September 2008. The Workshop program is outlined below.
