本会的使命为向全球所有致力于保护儿童、免儿童受虐待及疏忽照顾的人士或机构，提供支 持。本会定期每月出版备受推崇的Child Abuse and Neglect : The International Journal，发行 LINK 通讯，出版World Perspectives on Child Abuse，就各项儿童问题组织网上讨论，向会员 及国家伙伴以电邮发布消息及通讯，在地区、国家及国际层面举办教育活动。

本会成员来自一百八十个国家，俱为举足轻重的专业人士，遍及一切能够就虐儿问题在国家及国际层面作出响应的专业界别，其中有社会工作者、医生、精神科医生、护士、保护儿童工作者、精神健康工作者、心理学家、律师、法官、执法人员、调查人员、政府或社区官员、 研究人员、教育工作者、非政府机构、社会领袖、权利倡导者、神职人员及其它专业人士。

国际防止虐待及疏忽照顾儿童协会：国际期刊
本会每月出版备受推祟的Child Abuse and Neglect: The International Journal，为业界提供优质， 具国际视野，跨专业的资料，内容包括虐待儿童、疏忽照顾包括性虐待、并特别着重在预防 和治疗方面。范围更扩阔至所有有助于或阻碍理想家庭发展的各层面。

本期刊是业界其中一个最常被引用而又具影响力的刊物，借着强大的资源网，每年出版纸张达一百二十页。亦是业界最具国际观的期刊，当中文章的内容来自超过三十个国家、订户来至一百多个国家。除英文版外，部分的撮文更以西班牙文及法文印刷。期刊承诺能函盖各方 专业，而最具前瞻性及高质素的研究报告，更确立其最具影响力刊物的位置。

期刊运用新技术，将刊登的文章，通过ScienceDirect服务，将文章藉互联网发放。现时网上 可找到由一九七七年至二零零七年的资料。此期刊是ScienceDirect服务中使用率最高的刊物。
