There will be a Congress 2006 stand at the York Railway Station to assist those arriving by train. This will be open Sunday, 3rd September from 10am to 4pm and on Monday, 4th September from 8am to 12 Noon.
Taxis are available from the station concourse and the 2 mile -journey takes around 15 minutes. The cost is around £6.00 (or $11.00)
No 4 (‘Turquoise Line’) buses run by First York to the University, leave the station approximately every 15 minutes from 6.30am (7.30am Sundays) until 23.00. The bus stop is on University Road – the second one on that approach (ask driver for Campus Central). Signage will be in place to direct delegates the 10 minute walk through the University grounds to the Exhibition Centre (Registration Desk).
The Heslington campus is based in the south-east of York. It is easily accessible by car from the A64 section of the outer ring road, via the A1079 or the A19. Visitors approaching York from the A64 should turn off at one of the exits marked University (A19 or A1079), in order to avoid the City centre. Subsequent turns are also signposted. The Selby road (A19) should be followed to Fulford and turn along Heslington Lane or Broadway towards Heslington. The Exhibition Centre is off Goodricke Way (on the left).

York is only one hour from the North Sea Ferries (P and O) terminal at Hull, with daily crossings to Holland and Belgium. See www.poferries.com for details.
