prevention is achieved through education and professional cooperation,
and supports child abuse and neglect prevention professionals in their
efforts to extend training, education and awareness in their regions
and countries. Further, ISPCAN holds one international congress every

ISPCAN strives to be a catalyst for organizations
at national level of training programs, through local child abuse
and neglect prevention professionals. ISPCAN provides technical assistance
such as expert trainers, professionals in child abuse and neglect,
prevention from several disciplines as well as materials WHO protocols,
diagnostic slides, manuals and guidelines, other publications. Additional
funding, when possible is provided for local organizations for venues,
materials, mailings/postage, printing and sometimes for transportation
and meals to minimize or completely prevent any cost to participants,
when their participation would otherwise be prohibited.
ISPCAN's funding base for these activities is very
minimal (normally limited to US $2,000 per training event, with
only 5 to 6 training events possible to be funded annually). Although
we have a wealth of human resources, professionals who are trainers,
who will often volunteer their time to do training if expenses can
be covered. Therefore, the most successful events take place when
we identify local, national, regional and international partners
to also contribute some funds to strengthen the total support that
can be made available for these events.
