Our 3rd Denver Thinking Space was held virtually and was free and open to the public.
Theme:"Positive Parenting: Preventing Violence against Children"
The World Report on Violence Against Children notes that “documentation of the magnitude of violence against children shows clearly that this is a very substantial and serious global problem” (Pinheiro 2006, p. 6). The Report emphasizes that violence against children occurs in every society and country and has a profound impact on the holistic health and well-being of children. This report also highlighted the importance of equipping parents and caregivers of children with the knowledge and skills to parent without violence.
Along those lines, the thoughts and ideas coming out of this event will be published in a paper that our colleagues, both locally and globally, will be able to use to better serve children and families.
