SOCIETY FOR PREVENTION OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT (ISPCAN)
AWARD POLICY AND APPLICATION
has very limited resources for the awarding of scholarships. Therefore,
selection criteria are used to assist in the allocation of these limited funds.
The following selection criteria are used to assist the award process, not
necessarily in the order listed. Scholarships are not awarded in full but are
partial in order to supplement funds already raised by the potential delegates.
Criteria that will be used to guide the selection of scholarship
- Delegates who are from
countries that are listed as developing countries by the World Bank;
- Delegates who are
presenting at the ISPCAN congress or conference;
- Delegates from
countries where there is not currently strong ISPCAN representation;
- Delegates working in child
protection professions that are traditionally not high-paying;
- Those attending the
ISPCAN congress or conference for the first time;
- Professionals who are
active in their communities and have the ability to take the benefits of
this educational experience back to their
communities or to offer local or national training;
- Those who have been
able to obtain local matching or some minimum contribution of funding to
enable their attendance;
- No more than one
sponsorship per country will be awarded;
- Delegates who are
ISPCAN members or National Society members, who thereby are most committed
to ISPCAN's multi-disciplinary interest and commitment to CAN
