ISPCAN awards are presented every two years at the ISPCAN International Congresses. Award recipients receive a plaque, acknowledgment on ISPCAN’s website, and recognition in ISPCAN’s
newsletter, The LINK. Nominees (or at
least one member of the multidisciplinary team) must be ISPCAN members of good
standing for at least two years at the time of nomination.
Applications for 2014 awards will open in the fall of 2013.
The
Distinguished Career Award recognizes an outstanding professional for longstanding
dedication, expertise and contributions to the field of child abuse and

The Distinguished Service Award recognizes an individual for his or
her commitment and dedication to ISPCAN or to an ISPCAN Country Partner. (Download Application)
The C. Henry Kempe Award, established in 1984, is presented every two
years by ISPCAN to an outstanding young professional or organization working in
any discipline in the field of child abuse and neglect. (Download Application)
The Kempe Lectureship was established in 1986 as a major feature of
ISPCAN’s international congresses. Following the example of Dr. C. Henry Kempe,
the individual selected to deliver the Kempe Memorial Lecture must have made
significant contributions to the welfare of children and demonstrate significant
teaching experience. The 2012 Kempe Lecturer will be an invited speaker at
ISPCAN’s 19th International Congress to be held in Istanbul, Turkey from 9 – 12
September 2012, and the Kempe Memorial Lecture may be published in Child Abuse & Neglect: the International

The
Multidisciplinary Team Award recognizes a multidisciplinary team that has
made substantial progress in the treatment or prevention of child abuse and
neglect in its local community. The award may be given to the team as a whole
or to the individual who developed and led the team. (Download Application)
